The Canada Education Savings Act and the Canada Education Savings Regulations govern the payment and repayment of Canada Education Savings Grants ( CESG s) and Canada Learning Bonds (CLBs) into Registered Education Savings Plans ( RESP s) under the authority of the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development Act.
Section 146.1 of the Income Tax Act governs the use of Registered Education Savings Plans ( RESP s) as a trust arrangement into which the Government of Canada may deposit the Canada Education Savings Grant ( CESG ) and the Canada Learning Bond ( CLB ).
